Brain Injury Awareness Month is dedicated to raising awareness of brain injuries and their impact on individuals, whānau, and communities. Often described as an “invisible injury,” the effects of a brain injury can influence memory, thinking, emotions, behaviour, and everyday life, with challenges that may continue long after the injury occurs.
This month provides an opportunity to learn more about brain injury, hear the stories of those affected, and promote understanding, inclusion, and support. By raising awareness and advocating for better access to services and resources, we can help create stronger outcomes for people living with brain injuries.
