Throughout June, we are raising awareness of motor neurone disease (MND) and its impact on people, whānau, and communities across Aotearoa.
More than 400 New Zealanders are living with MND at any given time, with two people diagnosed and two people dying from the disease each week. MND is a progressive and incurable condition that affects the nerve cells responsible for movement, gradually impacting a person’s ability to walk, speak, eat, swallow, and breathe.
