FSH Dystrophy Day

Join us in recognising World FSHD Day on 20 June and raising awareness of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD), a genetic condition that causes progressive muscle weakness.

FSHD commonly affects the muscles of the face, shoulders, upper arms, and legs, although symptoms and their severity can vary significantly from person to person. It can affect people of all ages and is often underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed.

World FSHD Day provides an opportunity to increase visibility, support people living with FSHD and their whānau, and encourage greater investment in research, diagnosis, and care. Together, we can help ensure that people affected by FSHD are seen, understood, and supported.
