Organised by the World Lupus Federation, World Lupus Day is recognised on 10 May to raise awareness and understanding of lupus worldwide.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can affect many parts of the body, including the skin, joints, and internal organs. Because lupus can affect people in different ways and its symptoms are not always visible, greater awareness and understanding are essential.
World Lupus Day provides an opportunity to educate communities, challenge misconceptions, and highlight the experiences of people living with lupus. By increasing awareness and supporting global initiatives, we can help empower those affected to advocate for their needs and encourage greater support, research, and understanding of this complex condition.
