Throughout May, we are raising awareness of Huntington’s disease (HD) and the impact it can have on individuals, whānau, and communities.
Huntington’s disease is a hereditary neurological condition that progressively affects a person’s movement, thinking, emotions, and cognitive abilities, often having a significant impact on quality of life.
While there is currently no cure, treatments and support can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life for people living with HD.
By starting conversations and shining a light on the challenges associated with Huntington’s disease, we can help promote greater awareness, education, research, and access to support and treatment for those affected.
