Beaches & Parks Accessibility Survey

Tiaho Trust want to learn more about accessibility at parks and beaches across Whangārei.

We want to hear directly from disabled people, tāngata whaikaha Māori, whānau hauā, families, carers and other members of our community. Your experiences will help identify what is working well, where barriers exist and what could make our local outdoor spaces more accessible and welcoming.

You can complete the survey after visiting a park or beach, or tell us about a place you already know well. We would like to hear about things such as:

• Accessible parking and pathways
• Toilets and changing facilities
• Seating, picnic areas and playgrounds
• Access to the beach or water
• Signage and information
• Any barriers that make visiting difficult
• Improvements that would help more people enjoy the space

The survey is voluntary and takes approximately 3–5 minutes. You are welcome to complete it more than once if you would like to tell us about different parks or beaches. All entries go in the draw to win a $100 Prezzy card (drawn on 30th September 2026).
