Tiaho Trust’s fully accessible respite house in central Whangārei is now available for bookings.

Designed to meet the needs of disabled people and their whānau, this purpose-built home offers a safe, comfortable space for short-term stays, respite breaks, or accessible holidays in Northland.



The Space

This three-bedroom home has been thoughtfully designed with accessibility and comfort in mind, featuring:

  • Wheelchair-accessible layout
  • Adjustable bed and hoist
  • Accessible bathroom with wet area shower
  • Second caregiver/whanau bathroom
  • Spacious living and dining areas
  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Easy outdoor access

The home is suitable for individuals, families, or small groups, and can be used privately or alongside your own support person or caregiver.

Using Individualised Funding (IF)

Stays at the house may be accessed using Individualised Funding (IF), or privately, depending on your situation.
