Access Whangarei Map

Tiaho has also been working alongside the DSRG and the WDC to publish an updated version of the ‘Access Whangarei Map’.

This map has been designed to help visitors find their way around the city, listing mobility parking spaces, accessible amenities including toilets, accommodation, conference, retail and dining options and other useful information.

One of the main objectives behind this map was not only to identify accessible buildings and services but to promote Whangarei as a desirable holiday destination for disabled people.  The rationale is to make accessibility not just a “nice to do” ethical issue but a business driven imperative.

You can view this map at the bottom of this article, or you can get a hardcopy at Tiaho Trust and the Whangarei District Council.
