Parafed North Island Games

The Parafed North Island Games is a unique event focused on bringing elite, developing and junior athletes together to compete in a friendly and enjoyable environment.

It has been a number of years since the last Parafed North Island Games were held, but Parafed Auckland is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the event this year in Auckland, on the 8th and 9th November.

The 2008 Parafed North Island Games will feature events in athletics, boccia, archery, shooting, swimming, basketball, rugby, power lifting, tennis and table tennis.

Providing you have a physical disability, you will be able to enter as many events as you like, for a minimal entry fee of $10 per sporting category. Athletes will be required to arrange and pay for their own transport, accommodation and meals whilst in Auckland.

We would like to send a special invitation to athletes from the North Island and around New Zealand to come to Auckland to compete.

Attached is an Expression of Interest form. Please complete this form with the understanding that not all events will be programmed into the games. Events will be confirmed providing we have adequate participants entered. Please complete the attached form and return to Parafed Auckland before the 23rd May 2008.

Once we have received all Expression of Interest forms, more information will be provided to athletes, including a confirmed programme and full list of entrants.

Accommodation can be arranged through Parafed Auckland at the Millenium Institute of Sport and Health, North Harbour. As they can only accommodate up to 60 people, please ensure that you arrange accommodation through Parafed Auckland as soon as possible. Disabled facilities are available, however are limited at the Millenium; those of you that attended last years Paralympics New Zealand National Games will be familiar with these.

I look forward to receiving your completed forms and to seeing you at the games in Auckland!

Cheers
