Due to Covid lockdown this event the Getting Out There EXPO on Friday 20th Augusthas had to be postponed. Watch this space for a new date
Tiaho Trust hosts the biannual “Getting Out There” – EXPO at Forum North. This is a Disability and Seniors event that provides information and resources; on Community groups, Health and Disability services and Equipment Services each year with approximately 50 stalls and over 2500 people attend. This will be a one day event on Friday 20th August 2021, opened by the Mayor.
Each EXPO we have, has a different theme. This year our theme is “Promoting Abilities”, with the focus being on the value of employing people with disabilities. We are working in collaboration with our local Workbridge team to engage with Employers in Whangarei who are either currently employing people with impairments or open to employing people with impairments in the future. Workbridge will be nominating three businesses for Awards this year and they will be announced at the EXPO.
There will be approximately 30 Community Stalls showcasing what they do, how they can help you or maybe you might like to join their group and help out and meet more people. Live entertainment from a Cultural Youth Disability Group from Auckland and other entertainers.
If you would like to be part of this event or want to know more please feel free to give us a call.
