Feedback wanted

The Draft Digital Strategy 2.0 is now out for public feedback.

Communications and Information Technology Minister David Cunliffe announced the release today

The Draft Digital Strategy 2.0 is a key step in the process to refresh the 2005 Digital Strategy and deliver a final updated Digital Strategy 2.0 mid year. This is your opportunity to have your say, and inform priorities and actions shaping New Zealand’s digital future.

We have come a long way since the first digital strategy was released. Significant progress has been made – you will find more detail on initiatives in the Digital Strategy Report on Progress released at the Digital Future Summit last year.

The Draft Digital Strategy 2.0 is about taking the next step into New Zealand’s digital future.  The digital environment is rapidly changing, and it is now timely to review where we have come from and where we are going as a nation, so that New Zealand can achieve its digital potential.

It is now time to think differently and collectively about the kinds of community, environmental and economic outcomes New Zealand wants from the use of digital technology in the future, and how they can be achieved.

So have your say – we need your ideas and want to hear about how you can contribute to New Zealand achieving its digital potential.

Please note that submissions close at 5.00pm, Monday 12 May 2008.
