Accessibility training

CCS Disability Action is holding a four hour workshop designed to inroduce you to how the built environment impacts on people with disabilities, the fundamentals of the Building Act and Building Code and the principles of the “Accessible Journey”.

Learning outcomes for the participants include:

  • To gain an understanding of diversity of disability, both visible and hidden, and how design of the built environment impacts on people with impairments
  • Introduction to the Building Act and Building Code; legislative requirements to provide Universal Access to the built environment
  • Understand the principles of the “Accessible Journey”
  • An introduction to the Barrier Free NZ Trust and the Barrier Free Checklist

The workshop is being held on Wednesday 21st May at CCS Disability Action, Northern Region office, 14 Erson Av enue, Royal Oak.  Please be there at 10.45am for an 11am start, finishing at 3pm.  The presenter is Vivian Naylor. Lunch will be provided.
