New Zealand Disability Strategy
The NZ Disability Strategy provides a framework for removing barriers to disabled people's full participation in society.
The NZ Disability Strategy is vital to the well-being of the one-in-five New Zealanders who identify that they have a long-term impairment. By implementing the Strategy, New Zealand will become a more inclusive society, eliminating the barriers to people with disabilities participating in and contributing to society.
The Strategy has the vision of a society that highly values the lives and continually enhances full participation of disabled people. It provides an enduring framework to ensure that government departments and agencies consider disabled people before making decisions.

Life is for living - 25 New Zealanders living with disability tell their stories
This book is the collected stories of some ordinary people leading everyday lives. Most of those who told their stories belong to the community of the ‘one in five’ New Zealanders who experience disability. The others are caring for family members with impairments.
Photographs of the story-tellers, often with families and friends or engaged in favourite activities, are included. Some have chosen to tell their story anonymously.

Inclusive Communities
This valuable document was created by the Disabled Persons Assembly of New Zealand (DPA) and CCS Disability Action in a partnership initiative with People First New Zealand, IHC, Central Potential Inc, Workbridge and the Deaf Association of NZ Inc.
This booklet was produced to educate and raise awareness about disability issues. It provides Territorial Authorities (Councils) and District Helath Boards (DHB's) with information about how to include disabled people and their families/whanau in their work and planning. It will support and enable them to have closer partnerships and relationships with disabled people and their families/whanau, leading to a more inclusive and responsive society for all New Zealanders.
