IHC Advocacy to the Heartands Forum
Published April 19th 2012, Posted in NorthlandYou’re invited to a forum in Whangarei that will provide information and resources to families raising disabled children.
Families tell us that support for their disabled children and young people is limited and poorly coordinated by the health, education and social development ministries. IHC believes New Zealand can do better.
In 2011 IHC published a Call to Action for Disabled Children to tell politicians what needs to change. IHC drew attention to the need for disabled children to be included in the community of all children so that their needs, rights, interests and well-being are at the heart of all government decisions.
IHC Advocacy is travelling to Heartland New Zealand in 2012 to talk with families and supporters of disabled children and young people.
