Recently the Brain Injury Association Northland had a visit from Amy Walters – the new Health and disability Co-ordinator at Work & Income. Amy explained some changes that would effect people who receive a Sickness or Invalids Benefit.

Opportunity to participate

IMAGINE BETTER - An opportunity to build positive futures for young people with physical disabilities and their families

Standards Plus are conducting two focus groups in Whangarei on behalf of a philanthropic organisation that is looking at how they distribute funds to children and young people with a physical disability.

They are looking for 8 people for each meeting, the first meeting is for parents and the second is for young people with a disability aged 12 year – 21 years.

“Wow what a show!”

Pauline Allen-Downs, double pass ticket winner to the 10th Anniversary show of Touch Compass Dance Company at Forum North, Whangarei last night said after the event “Wow what a show”. Some of the words that come to mind to describe the show are; thought provoking, entertaining, out of the ordinary.

The whole cast worked synergistically together with energy to match throughout the whole show. The children in the audience appeared as enthralled as the adults throughout the whole event.

It was difficult to pick a highlight as the whole performance was fantastic. Overall a humbling experience, thank you for the opportunity.
