Whangarei Ability Stroll

Keen to be part of the Beach to Basin on 1st March 2009 but not confident to go the whole distance?

The Ability Stroll offers an alternative course for those with mobility challenges….

The 2.2 km course begins at Cobham Oval and finishes along with the Beach to Basin participants down at the Town Basin. This will mean a course with less congestion and more easily negotiable with plenty of room for wheelchairs, walking frames and support people.

Registration will take place at the start of the course at 8am for an 8:30 start.

The Ability Stroll is around 2.2 kilometres, is on flat terrain and follows foot paths. Accessible parking is available at both ends of the route along with toilet facilities. The route will be well marked with cones and a support vehicle will accompany the group of walkers and wheelers.

This is a good opportunity for all of us keen to be associated with the Beach to Basin event so get your gear on!

What a fantastic effort by the Tiaho Terrors. I am proud of my sister Gail Stacey for going the distance and wearing the grass out with her walking.
