A disabled Whangarei woman is shaken after having her bag stolen from her motorised wheelchair while she was in a main thoroughfare in broad daylight.
Kimberley McLean, 24, said she had never been afraid of making her way around town before but is now scared of being out on her own..
She was on Kamo Rd between the Regent and Kensington shops last Tuesday afternoon when she was followed by two “rough” looking youths aged between 12 and 15.
One of them came to the front of her chair and spoke to her as the other snatched her bag, before they ran off.
Her touchscreen iPod, taxi chits and make-up were taken.
