Sign Language scholarships available

Communications and Information Technology Minister David Cunliffe has announced the government will fund twenty scholarships for training in sign language.

These scholarships are being offered as there is a shortage of qualified interpreters in New Zealand.  Having more qualified interpreters will assist in the development of services for the Deaf Community.  The Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting is available through Auckland University of Technology.  Read media release
