Regional Awards and Volunteer Luncheon

Published 18 December 2008, Posted in Northland Regional Awards and Volunteer Luncheon

On Monday 15 December the Arthritis NZ Whangarei/Kaipara Districts Service Centre held a luncheon to thank their volunteers and to honour two of them with Regional Awards.

Francesca Holloway, Northern Regional Manager of Arthritis New Zealand, welcomed everyone and thanked them for the great effort they had made to the local Service Centre and the fundraising.  She reiterated that “all monies raised in the local community stay in that community to support clients who have Arthritis”.

Regional Awards were presented to volunteers Josie O’Sullivan and Des Phillips, for their contribution to Arthritis New Zealand, by Sandra Kirby, Chief Executive of Arthritis New Zealand. The volunteers were not the only ones to be recognised at the luncheon with flowers presented by Maree Douglas, Volunteer, to Sue Baker, Service Centre Coordinator, and Maggie Philip, Arthritis Educator, for their services to the community.

The Arthritis New Zealand - Whangarei Service Centre is now closed for Christmas, but Sue Baker will be in the office sporadically from 5 January 2009.
