Parkinsons Awareness Week

Published October 29th 2008, Posted in Northland Parkinsons Awareness Week

Parkinsons Awareness Week for 2008 is 1 - 7th November.

Once again the topic for this years Awareness Week is “Get It On Time” stressing the importance of medication being taken at the correct time so the patient gets the full benefit.

This year the N.Z. Pharmacies Guild has offered their support and all their members will ensure that Parkinsonians getting their prescription medicines will have a reminder card included.

As part of Awareness Week the Northland Division will be running Christmas Cake Raffles at Regent New World, Onerahi New World, Warehouse Whangarei and in Kaitaia and Kerikeri.

Our next Whangarei Support Luncheon is being held on Thursday 6th November. The special Guest Speaker will be Mr Andrew Dunn who is the Chairman of the Board of Parkinsons N.Z; he will speak on the work being done by Parkinson’s N.Z.

All Members, Caregivers, Families, Support Agencies and others with an interest in Parkinson’s Disease are invited to attend.

The luncheon will be held at the Masonic Hall, Maunu Road, Whangarei at 11 am with the Guest Speaker addressing the meeting at 11.30am.

Please bring a plate for shared lunch.

For further enquiries about this meeting please contact the Coordinator.Leonie Robertson on 09 43 61 196.
