Local Businesses support Deaf Children

Volunteer Alana Best wrapping a Christmas gift at Classics BookstoreIn the lead up to Christmas 2009, Northland Parents of Deaf Children Inc were given the opportunity to raise funds for their group through the generosity of Classics Boookstore.

They sent their customers to volunteers from the group who were wrapping Christmas presents outside the shop in the Civic Arcade and in addition, Classics provided all the paper and ribbons for the wrapping. Fast Signz donated a sign.

The funds raised will go towards providing deaf or hard of hearing children throughout Northland with opportunities to get together with their peers to socialise, go on outings and participate in activities that they would otherwise not be able to do.

Northland Parents of Deaf Children would like to thank the public for their generous support. The attached photo shows a volunteer, Alana Best, wrapping a gift.
