Arthritis New Zealand and Kids with Arthritis (KWA) support group invite you to attend the ‘Kids With Arthritis’ Seminar which is being held on Saturday 21st March, 9.30 am at the Salvation Army Community Church Hall, Manukau.
New families are welcome to attend this Free Seminar addressing pain management of children affected with Arthritis.
Arthritis New Zealand is honored to have Dr Sue Rudge, greatly experienced Paediatric Rheumatologist as our keynote speaker. Dr Rudge has a private practice in Remurea, Auckland. She practices at the Starship hospital Auckland and also flies to Christchurch and other locations within New Zealand where her expertise is needed.
Kids With Arthritis is a support group for New Zealand children with arthritis and their families. KWA is a non-profit group that is supported by and partly funded by Arthritis New Zealand.
KWA is based in Auckland and currently has 65 families involved in the group. The majority are from the greater Auckland area, but also have other families from Kaitaia, Whangarei, Tauranga, Huntly, Ngaruawahia, New Plymouth, Napier and Nelson.
Karen Derrick, Bruce Purdom and Phil Donnelly currently co-ordinate the group.
KWA aims to provide support and information to parents and children with arthritis and their families. KWA organise events for parents and families in order to share experiences and better understand juvenile arthritis, and also raise awareness in the community.
For the Parents, KWA provide; Peer Support, Monthly meetings, Friendship, Seminars and Access to Community Support Agencies.
