It’s Alzheimers Awareness Week
Published July 21st 2008, Posted in NorthlandYes it is Alzheimers Awareness Week and your opportunity to support the great work the Northland branch of Alzheimers NZ do in our community.
Check out what’s happening!
Tuesday 22nd July will see a “Blue Bonnet” collection by Alzheimers Northland volunteers at Progressive Enterprises stores in Whangarei, Dargaville and Keri Keri.
Collectors have been encouraged to wear an outrageous headpiece in blue – to complement the colour of our symbol, the forget-me-not flower.
Keep an eye out for these ladies!
All this week cafes and restaurants in Whangarei are supporting Alzheimers Northland by participating in the “Extra.Ordinary Cuppa Campaign”
People buying a cup of coffee (or tea) will be invited to make a donation at the counter. Participating cafes and restaurants todate include; BOB, Deluca, Chill, Dickens Inn, Hot Chocolate, Refuel, Robert Harris (The Strand), The Cake Tin, Soda, Vinyl, Go Espresso, The Teahouse Café, L.A. Café, Nectar!
Take a friend along for a cupps and give a donation which will put it straight into the hands of Alzheimers Northland so they can continue to provide and develop their great services.
What great support from our local business community, thank you to you all.
Don’t forget, you can join Tiaho Trust in hosting your own ”Cuppa for a Cause”, what a great way to get together with friends and collegues, eat great food (hopefully) and help our local Alzheimers NZ branch support people with Alzheimers in our community.
Follow this link or phone Alzheimers Society Northland on 09 438 7771 for more information about services and support or to make a donation.

Thanks Gail and Tiaho Trust for posting this information. I do hope people from the Northland can attend. Let me know if you require transport and I’ll see what I can do. Keep smiling, Mark
