Hip and Knee joint seminar

Published 17 July 2008, Posted in Northland Hip and Knee joint seminar

Have you been told that you need a hip or knee joint replacement?

If you live in the Dargaville area, Arthritis NZ is offering a great opportunity for people to attend a free seminar to learn more about hip and joint replacements and how to manage your mobility before and after surgery.

Join us at 1pm on Thursday 14th August in the conference room, Community Health Dargaville Hospital to hear Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Andrew Herbert speak about hip and knee joint replacement surgery.

He will be bringing along some x-rays of hip and knee joints to show why a replacement may be necessary and to explain the procedures.  He will also discuss post-op treatment and there will be an opportunity to ask questions so come along well prepared.

Marion Steven, Dargaville Hospital Physiotherapist will also be speaking at the seminar. People often have to wait for long periods before they receive their surgery and can encounter back and joint pain as they try to alleviate the pain in their effected joint. Marion will be talking about ways in which you can manage your mobility prior to and after your surgery.

Please contact Maggie Philip on 09 438 3741 or 0800 663 463 to register.

What a fantastic effort by the Tiaho Terrors. I am proud of my sister Gail Stacey for going the distance and wearing the grass out with her walking.
