Invitation to be a guest at the “My name is ….” workshops

The “My name is…” exhibition which launches on Friday 01 August 2008 at Reyburn House Art Gallery, Whangarei explores the lives of people with disabilities. Sponsored by IHC and CCS Disability Action, it brings together the best of the photographic work of Hanne Johnsen.

In the following weeks there will be a number of events and workshops focusing on raising awareness and advocating for inclusion.  A particular focus will be working with primary school students.

We wish to invite people with a lived experience of disability to be involved in these workshops as guest speakers. If you are interested in helping to educate the wider community about disability and embracing diversity we would like to hear from you.  We value your participation in helping to make this a successful event and are offering a $50 koha for guest speakers.

Please download and complete the application form at the bottom of this article and return to Tiaho Trust by Friday 27th.

Saffron Tyler, Tiaho Trust is the local co-ordinator for these events.  Her details are - phone 0800 430 3406 or email if you require further information.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Please read Our Stories - Creating positive change for dates of events in Whangarei and to hear and interview with the project managers of Our Stories.

Please visit www.ourstories.co.nz for further information about the project.
