Great welcome back to school

Not many 15-year-olds would say they enjoyed their first day back at school, but for Paralympic champion and world record-holder Sophie Pascoe, yesterday was one school day she will never forget.

Sophie, who captured Kiwi hearts by winning three gold medals and one silver in swimming events at the Beijing Paralympics last month, returned to Lincoln High School yesterday but not without a fuss.

More than 1500 people gathered on the school’s main field to recognise Sophie’s outstanding achievements.
