Disabled Working Parking Permit

Published 12 November 2006, Posted in Northland

The DSRG (Disability Sector Reference Group) has been working with the Whangarei District Council to implement a ‘Disabled Working Parking Permit’.

This permit will not only improve access to parking for people with a disability who are currently working in the central business district of Whangarei but will also increase disabled peoples opportunities to access work in this area.

Whangarei is the first city in New Zealand to establish this initiative and with intense interest coming from other local authorities, it may go nationwide !
