Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Information and Support

Published 26 April 2011, Posted in Northland

MEISS Whangarei – Myalgic Encephalopathy Information and Support Service, is for people affected by ME/CFS.  CFS is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and is another name for this disease.

We also include those caring for people with ME/CFS, those with fibromyalgia, another very similar disease, those with Chronic Chemical Sensitivity and all medical people with an interest in the subject. We cover the whole of the North, having members in Kaikohe, Kaitaia and Dargaville.

Members are kept in touch with a monthly newsletter which includes all the latest research information as well as suggestions and ideas for coping with the disease.  The group meets a couple of times a year.  We have an annual general meeting, usually a Christmas lunch, and each year we have at least one speaker, usually Dr. Ros Vallings, National Medical Officer for ME/CFS.

To contact the group, email Convener, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), or phone 09 436.2462.  Our latest newsletter is attached.
