Parent to Parent are delivering an Advocacy Support Training Course on the 11 & 12 September on the North Shore. 

If you know of some families or professionals who would be interested please let them know about this opportunity.  Support towards travel and accommodation costs is available for parents who are travelling from Northland.

Parent to Parent New Zealand’s Advocacy Support Course is for parents, family/whanau members, and those who work in the disability sector.  Learning advocacy support skills enhances self advocacy as well as providing important skills for helping others. 

This course offers the chance for parents and professionals to work along side each other, learning together and developing relationships. 

The Parent to Parent Advocacy Support Training Course is a 12 hour course delivered over two days with the following objectives:

  • Identify the different types and level of advocacy
  • Be able to advocate for others in range of differing situations, depending on own experience
  • Be able to produce an advocacy plan

Free for parents or family/whanau who have children with special needs.
$360 (inc GST) for paid staff which includes training course manual and lunch.
