Charity Fashion Parade

The Far North Branch of Arthritis New Zealand is planning its major fundraising event for 2009, a Fashion Parade to be held at The Razza in Kerikeri on Saturday, May 2nd at 7.30 pm.
Caroline Eve has kindly offered to be a major sponsor, and will feature their Winter Range and the evening will be compered by Deputy Mayor, Sally Macauley.

Are you passionate about fishing?

We need people who are passionate about fishing, willing to share their expertise, would be keen to help co-ordinate and take on other rolls - they need to have the time and plenty of it!!
It is well established that there is a huge interest out there in fishing, however our club needs reliable and committed peopole to help run it.
Come along to a meeting being held in the Whangarei Pipe Band Hall in Rawhiti Street, Morningside on Wednesday 29th April at 1pm if you would like to be involved.

Accessible van for sale
Published April 22nd 2009, Posted in Northland / 1 CommentThis seven seater Toyota van has one seat that lifts out with a hoist to become a comfortable wheelchair! Great price, only $21,500!
It is a year 2000 model and has done only 80,000km. It is in very tidy condition, greatr to drive and awesome for being out and about especially if you have trouble getting from A to B in and out of a car.

Over the next 7 weeks Laura Wilkinson-Meyers is looking far and wide across the whole of New Zealand for people with a physical impairment who are willing to share information about what it really takes (…and costs!!!) to live an ordinary life in New Zealand.
She is looking for contributions from people with a physical impairment, ages 18 to 64, to develop a web site about what it really takes (and costs) to live an ordinary life in the community.

Disability Information service in Kaitaia

Disabled people, their whanau, carers and the general community now have access to fourteen specialist disability information and advisory support service providers in the Far North.
Tiaho Trust, in conjunction with Parent to Parent, has contracted Te Runanga O Te Rarawa to establish and deliver a disability information outreach service in Kaitaia.

Free Epilepsy Seminar

This course empowers you with the skills and knowledge that you are doing the right thing if someone has a seizure in your care. It will also help you recognize and understand all types of seizures.

New Mobility Vehicle Hire Service

Ruairidh helps educate young drivers

Ruairidh Morrison participates in this valuable program by sharing the story of his life and that of his family, which was changed forever when Ruairidh was hit by a car at the age of two and a half.
His message encourages drivers to think about their driving behaviour and the potential effect on others.
