Voluntary Transport Support Service

The Tiaho van continues to be a valuable resource for the community in the Mid North.

In 2009 Tiaho Trust hopes to procure a new van to extend this Voluntary Transport Support Service.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Maria Wihongi, Earl Clifford from Mid North Shuttle and all the volunteers that make such a valuable contribution of their time to this service.

Spork students are real achievers

Students at ‘The Centre’, Tikipunga High School were recognised for their learning and life achievements at their recently held Praise Giving Ceremony.
Matthew Lewis and Gail Stacey, Empowerment Online Facilitators at Tiaho Trust were thrilled to be invited to attend this ceremony and were given the opportunity to present certificates to students who took part in the Empowerment Online Project.

Access Whangarei Map

Tiaho Trust has worked alongside the Whangarei District Council and CCS Disability Action Northland to develop a map identifying accessible public amenities, parking, restaurants, hotels and bars in Whangarei.

Newsletter on disabled peoples rights

The Human Rights Commission has today launched an e-newsletter highlighting activities and information for people with disabilities.

The newsletter – released on the International Day of Disabled Persons – is part of a Commission effort to ensure monitoring and support for the first international rights convention of the 21st century, the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The Attitude Awards night

As a finalist for the Attitude Community Award, Tiaho Trust was in great company with other finalists and guests at Sky City in Auckland where World Disability Day was celebrated atthe inaugural Attitude TV Awards.

We were delighted to be seated with the other category finalists and would like to give our warmest congratulations to the winners of the Attitude Community Award, ‘The Ryan Family’.

Gym Equipment Wanted
