The Northland Multiple Sclerosis Society held a luncheon prior to Christmas at the Cobb & Co in Whangarei to present the Annual Awards for the Northland MS Person of the Year 2007 and Northland MS Carer of the Year 2007 to two extraordinary ladies.

IEP workshop in Whangarei

Parent to Parent New Zealand Inc. in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, Special Education Services are holding a free IEP (Individual Education Plan) Seminar in Whangarei on Tuesday 15th April at CCS Disability Action offices, 291 Kamo Road Kensington.  This seminar is free with the only requirement being that you are a parent with a child/ren who are involved or likely to be involved in the IEP process.

Altogether Autism Network Meeting

Altogether Autism is an Information and advisory service for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders, their family/whanau and the wider NZ Community.  A regional network meeting is being held on Wednesday 16th April at 10.30am at the Northland Cricket Association Inc. rooms, Okara Drive.

Carers needed for study

The University of Auckland in conjunction with Carers New Zealand is inviting primary carers of people with support needs to take part in a study called C.A.N. (Carers Assessment of Needs). This study is designed to assess whether the support carers are receiving is meeting their needs as a carer (who supports people of any ages); and what if anything would improve this. Taking part in this study is voluntary.
