‘Getting Out There’ 2013

‘Getting Out There’ is a guide to assist and link people, families, carers and those living with disability to services, supports and organisations available in their community that will help them to ‘Get Out There’. It also contains some very informative profiles that share the experiences of some our local residents who are living with an impairment either themselves, or in their families.

NZ Sign Language Week 2013
Published April 16th 2013, Posted in NorthlandThis year will be the 7th Annual New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) Week, running from 13th to 19th May 2013.
The aim in Northland is for all people including those at schools, businesses, healthcare providers and other organisations to learn 25 signs.
To help achieve this goal Deaf Aotearoa will again be running their FREE 45 minute Taster Classes (no hidden costs or fees). The tutor will come to your work place, school or staffroom and teach you NZSL tailored to your workplace.

Fun Day out with Seizure Support Northland
Published April 15th 2013, Posted in NorthlandSeizure Support Northland are holding two great days out to make the most of the last of our lovely summer! One day is for the boys and men, and the other is for girls and ladies.
For those living with epilepsy in their family these events are fun and provide valuable information as well as camaraderie.
